IATF 16949

IATF 16949 is the quality management standard for automotive production and service parts suppliers, built on ISO 9001 and published by the International Automotive Task Force.

It adds automotive requirements such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, measurement system analysis and customer-specific requirements. Certification is done by IATF-recognized bodies and the certificate states the site and scope. For non-automotive buyers it is a strong sign of process discipline, but the scope on the certificate must match the process you buy.
