ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is the international standard for a quality management system. Certification shows that a company has documented processes for meeting customer requirements and improving them.

It does not certify the quality of a specific part; it certifies that the system for planning, controlling and correcting work exists and is audited. Always check that the certificate is valid, issued by an accredited body and covers the site and processes you will buy from. Many capable small Mexican shops are not certified, so ask how they control measurements and records instead of excluding them automatically.
