Bajío region

The Bajío is an industrial region in central Mexico, usually taken to include Guanajuato, Querétaro, Aguascalientes and parts of Jalisco and San Luis Potosí.

It is a major cluster for automotive, aerospace, appliances and their supply chains, with many machining, stamping, plastics and casting shops. Compared with border cities it is farther from the US, typically more than a day by truck to Laredo, but it has a deep supplier base and access to the main highways and rail lines to the north.
